DVM - Dr. Emily Zakrajsek - Practice Owner and Primary Veterinarian
After graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2018, Dr Emily began practicing veterinary medicine in Tillsonburg as a mixed animal veterinarian. Having been horse-crazy her whole life, she quickly fell in love with equine practice, but also maintains a passion for working on species of all kinds. Not one to sit still, she spends her time outside of work at the gym, walking her dogs Jelly, Ranger and Heidi, and riding her horse Tessa. In 2021 Dr. Emily and her husband Eric started their own practice: Talbot Road Veterinary Services. Dr Emily can't wait to serve all the creatures of Norfolk county and beyond!
Associate DVM - Dr. Carleigh Cathcart
Raised on a hobby farm in Peterborough, ON, Dr. Carleigh quickly developed a love for animals of every kind. Her favourite thing about mixed animal medicine is the constant learning, challenge, and reward that comes with treating a wide variety of species. Before and after her graduation from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2021, Dr. Carleigh has held a passionate interest in animal welfare and behaviour. She is Fear Free certified in feline, canine, equine, and avian care, and regularly completes continuing education to improve the human-animal bond. Dr. Carleigh has worked with many rescues, shelters, and sanctuaries, but has a special place in her heart for the unique needs of donkeys. When not at work, Dr. Carleigh can be found cheering for the Leafs, reading a newspaper, and occasionally, sleeping.
Associate DVM - Dr. Courtney
Dr. Courtney completed her Bachelor of Science Honours in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph. She then went on to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College. With an equine background and an interest in working with a variety of species, mixed animal veterinary medicine was her desired field. Upon graduation, she joined Talbot Road Veterinary Services in 2023. Although she likes a little bit of everything, Dr. Courtney’s professional interests include: small animal nutrition, preventive care, animal behaviour, ophthalmology, surgery and community outreach.
After growing up on beautiful Georgian bay, Dr. Courtney is excited to start a new chapter in her life, relocating to the Delhi area. When Dr. Courtney isn’t working, she is busy spoiling and training her rescue dog, Bentley. In the summer, Dr. Courtney enjoys spending time outside - hiking, camping and boating. After taking a break from riding for school, Dr. Courtney is hoping to get back in the saddle this summer.
Office Manager - Eric Elver
Growing up in London, Ontario, Eric has always had a love of animals as well as a keen interest in business and marketing. After completing a business degree at Fanshawe college, he and Dr. Emily moved to Tillsonburg together and married not long after! In Tillsonburg Eric spent several years as a manager and eagerly joined the clinic team when the couple took over in 2021 as the office manager. When not working, Eric enjoys hanging out at home with their cats Reese and Twix and going for walks with Dr. Emily and their dogs. He is also an avid paintball player and a hockey goalie.
Head Technician RVT - Amanda
Born and raised on an apple farm in Harley Ontario, Amanda has always had a love for the country and it's animals. After completing her degree to become a Registered Veterinary Technician she began working as a mixed-animal tech in Tillsonburg. In 2021 she was hired on as a founding member of Talbot Veterinary services. When not at work Amanda enjoys playing with her cat named Sprout, exploring in the wilderness and riding a quarter horse named Bear. She looks forward to working with all our clients and critters big and small!
RVT - Hannah
Hannah has always had a love for animals and medicine as she grew up on a beef farm and her grandmother was a nurse so veterinarian medicine was the only thing that made sense! Hannah graduated from St Clair college in 2020 and got her registration shortly after. Hannah enjoys working with all species especially bovine, equine and small ruminants. When Hannah isn’t working she’s at home working with cattle and playing with her dogs aka “kids” Ruger and Scarlett. Hannah is so excited and honoured to be joining the team as well as getting to meet everyone and working with their pets!
RVT - Andrea
Growing up on a dairy farm made veterinary medicine an easy choice for Andrea. After graduating from St. Clair College’s Veterinary Technician program in 2019, she went back to school and got her diploma in Agriculture science at the University of Guelph, Ridgetown campus so that she could pursue both of her passions! Andrea works part time at Talbot Road Veterinary Services and part time on her family’s dairy farm. When not working, Andrea enjoys hiking and playing with her cattle dog Kinze! She looks forward to getting to know all of our client’s pets; big, small, feathers and all!
Receptionist - Etta
Etta started her career in Veterinary Medicine in 2008, Having the privilege of working with exotics, Wildlife, Reptiles, Horses, and everything in between. Etta can honestly say she has a passion for animals of all kinds. Outside of work, Etta Enjoys Camping and hiking with her 2 children, Participating in Dog sports with her dogs, and spoiling her retired horse.
